2021 Tom Bowler Nero d'Avola Wine Club Price
Nero d’Avola first brought into the country in the 1990’s and cleared from quarantine and released for planting in Australia in 2001. With its ancestral home on the sun-baked southern slopes of Sicily, Nero hasn’t just found a very happy home here in McLaren Vale, it’s thriving.
TASTES LIKE: Medium bodied, with aromas of bright jubey red fruits, with a hint of pomegranate and star anise. It’s all raspberries and blackberries on the palate. Fresh natural acidity, firm ripe tannins and a warm juicy finish. Delicious.
DRINK WITH Chargrilled blackened Tuna Steak

Campbell Mattinson Wine Front: The cup here runneth over with lavender, anise and blueberry jube flavours. It’s delicious to say the least. There’s a smoky, minerally, clove-like note here too, which adds spread to the overt floral and berry flavours. There’s also a firm, savoury-driven dryness to this wine but it’s also an easy wine to take, so to speak. It gives. It’s generous. It’s well educated but it wants to party. 93 Points
